Can we dare be optimistic??

In the "no news is definitely good news" category, baseball's players union did not set a strike date during today's meeting. While no one is saying anything definitive, speculation is that progress is being made toward a labor agreement. Some reports are even saying that an agreement could be reached as early as this Friday. OK, so let's not go overboard with the optimism here, but anything that involves stepping back from the brink is definitely a good thing.

There is the possibility that the players could set a strike date at the end of the week if negotiations with the owners do not produce sufficient progress. Nevertheless, it is nice to have some good news to savor. Now, let's see what the end of the week brings.
