OK, I think I finally have a working weblog- sort of. I would be remiss if I did not profusely thank Brian Kane, who was generous enough to do the MT install and talk me past the geek material over Yahoo! Messenger. Without Brian, I would still be schlepping HTML like coals to Newcastle....
A big thanks also to thegirliematters, who made a couple of suggestions on the MT Support Forum that were instrumental in helping me figure out why things weren't looking the way I thought they should.
In short, this has been a headache, but it would have been SO much worse if not for some expert and generous help. I still have much work to do in order to get this site to look anything like what I ultimately would like. My knowledge level is hovering just a hair's breadth just about zero, so none of the bells and whistles are going to arrive overnight.
If anyone has suggestions about how I can make this look a little bit less generic, fire away. I can use all the help I can get.... ;0)
