The Dallas Stars, thankfully and finally, grew tired of goaltender Ed Belfour's spolied child act. After guiding the Stars to the Stanley Cup in 1999, Belfour seemed every bit the accident looking for a place to happen. Petulant, pouty, and temperamental, in the end Eddie was just too high-maintenance for the Stars- never mind that he just simply wore out his welcome.
Now Eddie's taken his act to Toronto. I wonder how long it will take for Pat Quinn and the Maple Leafs to grow tired of his pecadilloes? Frankly, I think everyone in Toronto would be better off if they put just Belfour on a slow boat to Thunder Bay. Lotsa luck, lads...you're going to need it.
