In January, 1972, Murray Sayle was sent to Londonderry, Northern Ireland by The Sunday Times to report of the fatal shootings of 14 unarmed civil rights marchers by paratroopers from the British Army. Because the article he wrote did not follow the official government line, it was never published, and eventually it disappeared. Twenty-six years later, a new inquiry into the shootings uncovered a copy of Sayle's article. Finally, after 30 years, the report filed by Sayle is seeing the light of day.
