In case anyone was wondering, there is still a gubernatorial campaign happening in Texas- not that you'd ever really know....
In the Democratic corner: Tony Sanchez, who apparently built his fortune by using his crooked S&L to finance drug runners and loot the savings of little old ladies throughout the Rio Grande Valley. If you're a Republican, Sanchez is the personification of Evil, worthy of suspicion because he attained his wealth through pluck and hard work, only to become...GASP!!...a Democrat.
In the Republican corner: Rick Perry, who attained the throne when Shrub ascended to the White House. "Governor Goodhair" is best known for wielding a wicked veto pen, being completely devoid of original ideas, and allowing insurance companies to run amuck in Texas. If you're a Democrat, Perry is the triumph of style over substance. Lacking ideas of his own, he has been reduced to attacking Sanchez as the spawn of Satan.
Personally, I'd rather wait for the new season of "The Anna Nicole Show". I hear that she'll actually be speaking in complete sentences this season....
