Garcia, Isbell face off for the 18th time
Johnny Isbell and Sylvia Garcia, the candidates for Harris County Commissioner from Precinct 2, are running against each other for the 18th time. You'd think they'd be tired of one another by now....
"I think I could give her speech and she could give mine," Isbell said shortly before the start of the debate....
During the debate, the two candidates remained fairly close on positions such as flood control, trauma care for the Harris County Hospital District, traffic congestion, senior citizen centers and other functions of the commission.
Without offering specific solutions, each vowed to work on the problems.
Who knows? Two years from now, we'll probably be reading about them running against each other for the 19th time. There's some sort of wierd symbiosis at work here. I'm not sure I wanted to delve into that in any detail, though.
As for me, I'm voting against Isbell just for his lame commercials. If his commercials are an indication of his vision and creativity, the man is clearly stunted.
