Welcome to Detroit, Mr. Joseph. Now win us a Stanley Cup.
The NHL seasons begins tomorrow, and, as is the norm this time of year, there are many questions and few answers. In Detroit, the defending champions (the evil, blood-sucking) Red Wings begin their defense with a new head coach and a new starting goaltender. They may be vulnerable, or they may simply have re-tooled. Either way, they're a mystery many teams are hoping to solve.
For people like me, there are two seasons: Summer and Hockey Season. Susan doesn't grasp my fascination with hockey, nor does she understand the game. Of course, she didn't grow up in northern Minnesota, either. I couldn't reasonably expect a native Texan to understand a game played on a frozen pond, now could I?? You don't see many frozen ponds around these parts.
The fun begins tomorrow night, and I can hardly wait. Game on, y'all....
