How sad is this? Canada's PM is having to defend Shrub's intellectual agility because of some ill-timed comments attributed to one of his aides.
Opposition legislator Jason Kenney told parliament he believed the comments -- which were reported by several newspapers -- had been made in Prague by Chretien's communications director Francoise Ducros.
"He [Bush] is a friend of mine, he is not a moron at all," Chretien told reporters in Prague....
"What a moron," the papers quoted the official as telling Canadian reporters on Wednesday evening in Prague.
OK, I'm not going to say that I disagree with the unfortunate Canadian official, but it was a spectacularly unfortunate thing to say in public. I'm sure that Msr. Ducros is hardly alone in his assessment of Shrub's intellectual agility (or lack of same), but he should have been able to keep his opinion to himself.
Shrub may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he has been savvy enough to surround himself with highly intellegent people. It's all about recognizing your limitations, I suppose. While no one will ever accuse Shrub of being a Rhodes scholar, he has been able to master the art of being Presidentiary. After all, stealing an election is not a sport for dummies, eh??
Now, I know that some of my Right-Wing friends will nail me for insulting our President". Nothing could be farther from the truth. Calling him a dishonest, vindictive opportunist- now THAT would be insulting, and I would never stoop so low...or would I?? :o)
