Day 7 on the Campaign Trail

Long lines put eSlate to test as numbers best 1998 figures

Tough to fight a legend

Three days until Election Day....

The endorsements keep rolling into Cluth4Guv HQ. Texas Gigs (thanks!!) now has a link up to my homepage. Lisa English also chimes in with her take on the race, and though she doesn't live in Texas, I'll leave her with the words of the immortal Lyle Lovett:

"You're not from Texas; Texas wants you anyway"

Of course, if this Guv'nur thing doesn't work out, I think I'm going to try and find a way to become Jack Welch's tool.

With the campaign grinding to it's inevitable conclusion, and me having been on the trail for all of a week, I am left with only one question. Why would anyone WANT to be Governor of Texas? It's a crummy job, with little real authority. That is exactly why I'm PERFECT for the job. I don't want it, but someone has to do it, right? I can kick ass and take names with the best of them, and I don't owe anyone any favors.

Keep THAT in mind when you step into the voting booth on Tuesday....

Of course, things COULD be worse. I could be Norm Coleman:

In Minnesota's race for the U.S. Senate, Coleman talks about helping to bring hockey to St. Paul. Democrat Walter Mondale talks of helping bring peace between Israel and Egypt.

Coleman talks about having a friend he can call in the White House. Mondale talks about serving in the White House as vice president of the United States.

And Coleman talks about his commitment to women and minorities. Mondale cites his history-making work for civil rights and empowering women.

Try fighting THAT....
