They're more than cold fronts and hockey players

An American's Guide to Canada

We'll explain the appeal of curling to you if you explaing the appeal of the National Rifle Association to us.

- Andy Barrie, host of CBC's "Metro Morning" to an American

I know most of you know that Canada is that big empty land mass on the map just north of the US. How many of you KNOW anything about Canada, other than their main exports are cold fronts and hockey players? Did you know that 60% of Canada's population lives along the Canada-US border. Did you know that Michael J. Fox and Peter Jennings are Canadian? Did you know that hockey is NOT the Canadian national sport? (It's lacrosse)

Emily Way has put together an encyclopedic collection of information about Canada. It's time we all learned something about our neighbor to the north- and no, I'm NOT talking about Oklahoma.
