Houston under flood watch as rain expected
This is getting old. There is six inches of water in my back yard.
The Houston area is under a flood watch today, with as much as 5 inches of rain expected to fall on already saturated ground during the day.
The watch extends along and southeast of a Columbus to Conroe to Livingston line, according to the National Weather Service.
The counties included in the watch are Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Jackson, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Waller and Wharton.
October's heavy rains have saturated the ground and put many rivers and streams near bankfull or flood stage. Forecasters predict that any additional heavy rain will likely create flooding across some locations.
An upper level disturbance approaching from the southwest and a warm front located across the watch area this morning will combine to produce widespread showers and thunderstorms today.
OK, but I'm going to draw the line at collecting two of Tom DeLay. He can learn to swim for all I care....
