A voice from the Dark Side has spoken, and michele asks a question that may well be totally pointless, but should nonetheless make for some interesting debate.
What do you think would have happened if Gore had been the president on September 11, 2001? What actions would have taken? What do you think the country would be like today?
Personally, I have no reason to believe that Gore would have been any less decisive or effective than Shrub. Keep in mind that all Shrub has really done is project an aura of leadership, which, in difficult times, is truly Job #1 for a President. He has done nothing that a President Gore and his Administration could not have done every bit as well? In many respects, Gore and Shrub are different sides of the same Republicrat coin. For anyone to tell me that Gore never would have been to effectively deal with 9.11 is laughable, and demonstrates that someone needs to take their blinders off.
Of course, this is all conjecture, and fodder for what will become a no doubt lively (and meaningless) debate. What matters, of course, is that the (legitimately or not) sitting President deal effectively with the challenges we face. So far, while I may question the methods, it's tough to argue with the results- and isn't that what really matters??
