Does this scare anyone else as much as it does me??
Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - The Indianapolis Ice of the Central Hockey League have agreed to terms with former NBA player Manute Bol.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the 7-foot-7 Bol is expected to be in uniform for this Saturday's game against the Amarillo Gorillas at Conseco Fieldhouse.
It is believed that Bol will be the tallest player in professional hockey history when, and if, he takes the ice Saturday.
"You can't teach size," said Ice head coach Ken McRae.
Bol played eleven seasons in the NBA with Washington, Philadelphia, Golden State and Miami.
On skates, Bol will be close to eight feet tall. I'm wondering if the Ice will even be able to find equipment that will fit him? Of course, Bol will most likely be snapped in two the first time someone checks him. It might be interesting to see what happens the first time he has a breakaway, though.
Rumor has it that after he retires from professional hockey he'll return to Sudan to coach their national hockey team....
