Wasn't America founded on unpricipled capitalism?

Unprincipled capitalism shouldn't be for export

Who is kidding whom here? Unprincipled capitalism is the American Way. In the eyes of most senior executives, the only crimes committed by Enron, WorldCom, et. al., was getting caught with their hands in the cookie jars. Have we forgotten those who made millions almost literally overnight during the Internet boom? C'mon, folks, wake up and smell the balance sheets- there's money to be made!! How often do you hear the words "capitalism" and "ethics" used in the same sentence?

Honestly, I agree with the author of this piece. Nonetheless, when there is money to be made, well, principles have a way of disappearing. It's an unfortunate reality, but such is the way of business. That's why we applaud businessmen with a conscience- they're a relatively rare breed. How sad is that?
