PLEASE don't make me use the "p" word

Marin women plan to march naked in San Francisco for peace (thanks to michele)

On January 18th, 100,000 women will march naked for peace. Only on the West Coast would something this pea-brained be taken seriously. I'm furiously fighting the temptation to work in a joke using the p-word here, but I'll be a good boy.

I am having a difficult time understanding what 100,000 mobile, naked women will contribute to the cause of world peace. Like Saddam is going to see this on CNN and suddenly be brought to his senses.

Paula Zahn: So, Saddam, what convinced you to finally come clean about your weapons of mass destruction?

Saddam Hussein Well, Paula, I have to admit that seeing those 100,000 naked women brought me to my senses. Suddenly, I realized what an insensitive, tyrannical despot I've been. Those naked women made me want to be a better man.

Meanwhile, back here in the REAL world, I'm still trying to figure what nudity and peace have in common. Obviously, it's going to take a greater intellect than I to puzzle this one out.

"One hundred thousand women and men will strip on Jan. 18 in Washington D.C. and San Francisco for the huge national peace march in protest of the stripping of constitutional rights by a government intent on war," said Donna Sheehan, founder of Unreasonable Women Baring Witness in Point Reyes Station.

"Our message to women all over the world is be bold, be courageous, be vulnerable for peace."

Or just be naked. Whatever.
