Send in the clowns

lege.jpg

The Texas Legislature is back in session for the next 139 days...be still, my foolish heart, for the comic relief potential here is THROUGH THE ROOF. Thank you, Jesus....

The Legislature only meets every two years. I think the reason for that is that it takes two years for Texans to get used to the new rules of the road and undo the damage.

Imagine if "The Osbournes" and "The West Wing" met in a head-on collision, only to be run over by "Jackass". If you could do that, you'd have something close to the Lege. Of course, the old adage of sausage and legislation being the two things you should never watch being made would definitely apply here. Proceed at your own peril, y'all....

Isn't it rich, aren't we a pair
Me here at last on the ground - and you in mid-air
Send in the clowns

Isn't it bliss, don't you approve
One who keeps tearing around - and one who can't move
But where are the clowns - send in the clowns

Just when I stopped opening doors
Finally finding the one that I wanted - was yours
Making my entrance again with my usual flair
Sure of my lines - nobody there

Don't you love a farce; my fault I fear
I thought that you'd want what I want - sorry my dear
But where are the clowns - send in the clowns
Don't bother they're here

Isn't it rich, isn't it queer
Losing my timing this late in my career
But where are the clowns - send in the clowns
Well maybe next year

- Stephen Sondheim
