Warren Anderson, the former head of Union Carbide wanted in India for the deaths of 20,000 people, is living in a million- dollar home in Bridgehampton, New York, 18 years after jumping bail. Anderson is charged with eliminating safety standards at a Bhopal pesticide plant in order to save $47 a day, then evading arrest after a disastrous leak caused thousands of deaths and 120,000 permanent deformities from the poison methyl isocyanate. Anderson originally signed a statement in India agreeing to appear before an Indian court, but says he hasn't gotten around to it yet.
