Susan and Eric are up in Dallas at the State High School Debate Tournament for the weekend, and since someone around here has to earn a buck, I'm here by myself. The quiet is nice, but it feels strange being here by myself in the house. I've grown accustomed to a certain noise and activity level, and with that absent, it's an eerie feeling.
Fortunately, I am well-provisioned. I've laid in a large quantity of primo bachelor cuisine: cereal and frozen pizza. Combine that with a high quality hockey game (Dallas 2, Ottawa 2; 4:14 left in the second period) on the 51" Gigantotron, and life looks pretty good from where I sit. Of course, this is not something that I'd necessarily want to make a habit of, but I suppose a long weekend by myself won't kill me, eh?
