Susan raised one of her myriad pet peeves yesterday, and on this one I have to agree with her....
One of the local radio stations is running this inane ad from (surprise!) an automobile dealership in heavy rotation:
Because our lots are overloaded, we have instructed our sales managers to accept all reasonable offers this weekend only!
Wow, this ranks right up there with Yogi Berra's "They pay you in cash. That's almost as good as real money!" Apparently, these sales managers are so stupid that they have to be INSTRUCTED to accept reasonable offers, because, left to their own devices, they would be inclined to accept only UNREASONABLE offers.
Also, be sure to come in this weekend, because we'll be suspending our normal business practice- which is to refuse all reasonable offers!!
And to think that some maroon went to college in order to achieve his dream of writing advertising copy. Yep, looks like four wasted years to me, eh?
