Smoky air prompts new alert: County warns at-risk groups to stay inside

Smoke from brush fires in Central America and southern Mexico have been heading our direction for the past few days, and for those of us with allergy issues, it's been a challenge.

Harris County health officials advise people with breathing problems to limit the time they spend outdoors and avoid physical activity due to worsening air quality....

Large fires burning in Mexico and Central America have been sending smoke north into Texas, and a change in weather conditions over the weekend sent the worst of that pollution over Houston.

Right. What should have been a sunny weekend turned into a grey and dreary one. I haven't been able to breathe since the smoke began moving into the Houston area. Combine the smoke with another visit from the Migraine Fairy, and it made for a generally pretty crummy weekend.

I want a do-over....
