Stewart defends herself with ad, Web site
Martha Stewart, defending her innocence...yawn. Greed, I suppose, has it's price, and it seems that Martha is flirting with finding out just what that price is. The federal government's case looks to be somewhat shaky, but I think it is better than even-money than Martha will be knitting doilies behind bars before this is all over. Personally, I'm finding it difficult to pony up much sympathy for someone who, if she is not guilty of inside trading, is at the very least a lousy liar.
Of course, Martha's PR machine is busily working to spin her legal dilemma in the most positive light possible. No matter how much her spinmeisters attempt to massage reality, nothing will change this fact: prison stripes DO make you look fat.
