Enforcing responsible behavior

A call for keeping hands on the wheel: NTSB wants warnings, ban on novice drivers using cellular phones

Do you really want to see this in your rearview mirror?

With a 15-year-old boy with a learner's permit in our house, I've been reacquainted with the challenges surrounding new drivers. Eric is a good driver, but he is inexperienced, as is every other teenager out there behind the wheel. I don't see anything wrong with passing a law that requires teens to devote their full and complete attention to the business at hand. Once you are no longer a teenager, we should be able to assume that you have enough experience to be able to be treated as other adult drivers. Until then, turn your cell phone off.
