If you're from Cincinnati, you really can't go home again

Ken Griffery, Jr. out for season -- again

Griffey: Wait till next year

Man, anyone with even a shred of humanity has got to feel sorry for Ken Griffey, Jr. Here's a guy who was brought back home to Cincinnati, and then stayed for less money than he would have received on the open market, only to have his body betray him. To make matters worse, Cincinnati fans have been absolutely brutal to him, displaying a mean-spirited and total absence of class.

I was watching the Astros-Reds game the other night when Griffey suffered his latest injury. What angered me was that the Cincinnati fans were actually booing Griffey as he left the field. Frankly, I think a less-than-mediocre ballclub is exactly what those morons deserve. What sort of classless lowlife boos an athlete for suffering a season- and perhaps career-ending injury? Apparently, Reds fans do. Get over yourselves, willya??
