Wherein our hero, Sean Paul Kelley, meets an Uzbek girl who sings the Texas A&M fight song. Who says we're not polluting the minds of the world's youth??
Woke up. Light breakfast. Walked to the Kalon minaret. There I met Saltinoi, a sprightly little girl of eleven who speaks English, Russian, Uzbek and Tajik....
“I met a woman from Texas. She was my English teacher for a few months. She teach me a song. Do you want to hear it?”
“Sure, why not?”
She sang the Texas A&M Fight Song and ended it with a loud, proud Aggie, “Hey, Gig’em, Go Aggies, Whoop!”
Stopped in my tracks. I was dumbfounded. First, Texans aren’t known for their traveling acumen. Bush is a good example. Second, Aggies are certainly not known for their wanderlust either. They prefer life around a big bonfire and complaining about TU, Texas University. Now the Aggies are polluting the minds of the Uzbek youth. What is the world coming to?
Yeah, but can she play football??
