And sometimes, good things DO happen to good people....

Finally, after a week that has careened from abject feat to mere uncertainty, Susan is back home. It's going to be awhile before she is feeling better, but at least she is out of the hospital and back to familiar surroundings. That alone is cause for celebration. It's nice to have her home, and I am not going to miss trying to nap in that damn hospital room.

Susan will be laid up for anywhere from 4-6 weeks. The ophthamologist has advised that it will be at least that long before her double vision clears up and she can see normally again. It's not a pleasant thing to contemplate, but she is home, and she can be a mother to Eric again. It's going to be a lot easier to recover at home where things at least feel comfortable and familiar.

We still do not know "officially" what caused Susan to fall so ill. Lyme disease seems to be the leading suspect, if only because she is responding to an antibiotic that is normally used to treat that malady. At this point, I'm less concerned about finding out what caused her problems than in figuring out what we need to do to ease her recovery.

Speaking from the bottom of my heart, I want to say "thank you" to everyone who left a comment, emailed me, called me, or simply said a prayer for Susan. I never started writing about this to increase traffic to TPRS (and traffic has actually dropped a bit over the past week), but I wanted people to know that things haven't been rosy in Paradise. Thankfully, things ARE looking up, and I am truly grateful to all of you who kept us in your thoughts. All y'all have a special place in my heart.

Perhaps now I can laugh again....
