Clark: Americans 'embarrassed' by Bush
We're in there without a strategy to win, and without a strategy to exit properly, and now the president's asked for $87 billion to prosecute it. I think the reality is really striking the American people that this is an administration that doesn't have an effective foreign policy, and it doesn't have an effective strategy for prosecuting the war on terror.
- Gen. Wesley Clark
Not only is Wesley Clark a man with a plan, he also seems to have a grip on reality, which is more than you can say for the current President. I like Clark's idea of rolling back Bush's "it's the least I can do for my rich friends" tax cut. Granted, it is a lot easier to propose than to lead, but at least Clark has some experience at being an effective leader. Bush to date has demonstrated a complete lack of comprehension of what true leadership is. Leadership requires integrity and the moral authority that comes from demonstrating that there is never a wrong way to do the right thing.
Clark is right; Bush has been an embarrassment. His lack of integrity and honesty has cost a few hundred young Americans their lives. Is this the type of person we should want leading us through 2008? I would certainly hope not.
