Shouldn't a man be able to face his accusers?

Schwarzenegger sorry for behaving 'badly' toward women: Apology follows published allegations of sexual impropriety

The allegations of sexual improprities against Arnold Schwarzenegger are hardly surprising. I predicted this sort of thing would happen when he first announced his candidacy, and my predictions have certainly been borne out. Whether they are true or not, we are talking about actions that were alleged to have happened approximately 30 years ago. How is this relevant today? Speaking for most males, I think I could safely say that we have ALL groped a woman (or women) at some point in our lives. I was an immature twit who was terrified of anything female. At some time or another I may have done something that someone might characterize as "groping". Does that make me unfit to run for governor?

I am also concerned that women making these allegations are allowed to maintain their anonymity. When did Schwarzenegger lose the right to face his accusers? Why are these women allowed a free pass to fling charges and smear Schwarzenegger? I'm not saying that what they are alleging is false, but if you're going to raise charges after 30 years, at least have the moral courage to step into the spotlight to state your piece. Otherwise, you come off like someone with an axe to grind who is looking to ruin a career.

Look, anyone can come out and say "Arnold groped me 30 years ago...." Does that mean it happened? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Schwarzenegger at least deserves the opportunity to face his accusers. Otherwise he is merely fighting ghosts.

Hey, you know, I think Arnold groped me back in 1975.....
