Limbaugh resigns from ESPN's NFL pregame show
I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team.
- Rush Limbaugh
For just a fleeting moment somewhere over the past couple of days, I almost contemplated feeling sorry for Limbaugh. To be perfectly honest, while what he said was not the most intelligent or politically correct, I don't believe it is worthy of all the sturm und drang.
Rule #1 when addressing the race issue is DON'T DO IT!! You'd be better off sitting on your living room floor and playing Russian Roulette with six full chambers. Why anyone as intelligent and eloquent as Limbaugh would rush in where angels fear to tread is beyond me. Perhaps if he weren't such a lightning rod, there wouldn't be so many people gunning for him. He's made his bed with his intolerance and inflammatory opinionating over the years; now he's having to sleep in it. Too damn bad, eh??
Perhaps it's about time Limbaugh suffered the fruits of his own intolerance. This might explain why I'm having a difficult time getting all weepy over his resignation. The guy's a complete dickweed, anyway.
Take it like a man, Rush. You deserve exactly what you're getting.
