Blue movies, red faces for soccer team
It's an unusual training regimen, and well, no, it DIDN'T work very well....
Windhoek - Many sports teams abstain from sex ahead of an important match, but some members of the Namibian women's soccer team opted to watch porn movies.
Instead of going to bed early after watching Bend It Like Beckham ahead of an Olympic qualification match, they sought motivation in Brave Gladiators, one of six porn movies they reportedly watched.
The end result: a 13-0 loss to South Africa in their away match last month.
According to Windhoek's Allgemeine Zeitung, the players involved initially pleaded innocence, but the detailed hotel bill forced them to cough up R800.
And banning TVs from the women's rooms in their return match didn't help: South Africa won 13-1.
You know, sometimes you lose badly because, well, because you just SUCK. Losing two games by a combined 26-1 score is hardly an indication that you've been watching too much porn. It MAY just be an indication that you need to find another pursuit.
