When I look for new and different ways to demonstrate to Susan how much I love her, I unfortunately will have to steer clear of this example. I won't feel particularly guilty about looking elsewhere, either.
The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show airs at 9 Wednesday on CBS/Channel 11. The annual TV special falls somewhere between fashion show and peep show. They say it's all about fantasy. Well, duh. Looking like Heidi Klum or Gisele Bundchen just isn't normal, people.
The 2003 "Very Sexy" fantasy bra, featuring the 70-carat Excelsior diamond and more than 6,000 white diamonds, sapphires, rhodolites and amethysts, is tonight's main event. The price for this glitzy underpinning is $11 million. If that isn't excessive enough, Victoria's Secret is also offering the "Very Sexy" pendant and earrings. The pieces include rose-cut diamonds and sapphires set in 18-karat white gold. The pendant, which hangs from a 16-inch white-gold chain, is $998. The earrings are $698.
Right...and demonstrating that you care shouldn't bust the budget, right? Yeah, like an $11 million bra is a good investment. You couldn't even show it off....or could you?? Somehow, I think Susan will be just as happy with some roses or an afternoon at the movies- particularly since those won't force us into bankruptcy.
