And now the truly hard work begins

Kerry expects onslaught of GOP criticism

These guys will want to try to do everything to change the subject. But the subject is 3 million jobs lost in the last few years, it's health care that's completely unaffordable and unreachable for tens of millions of Americans, it's kids who are not getting a decent education all across America.

- John Kerry

There is a lot of work left to be done, and fortunately no one is under any illusions that Republicans are disposed to fighting fairly. John Kerry no doubt recognizes what is coming his way over the next 8+ months. In fact, it has already started. I think that, over the next few months, Americans will find out that John Kerry is made of sterner stuff than most of us realize. Certainly, he is far more worthy of the White House than the current illegitimate Thief-in-Chief.

John Kerry, attacked by President Bush's campaign as a pretend foe of the special interests, said today he is "ready to fight back" in the battle for the White House. Former candidate Wesley Clark offered to help the front-runner oust the Republican incumbent....

Kerry's first stop of the day was in Madison, Wis., where he collected the endorsement of former rival Wesley Clark.

"Request permission to come aboard, the Army's here," Clark, a retired Army general told Kerry, a Navy lieutenant during the Vietnam War, as the two stood together on stage.

As military references abounded, Kerry told the crowd that Clark would stand beside him and "help walk the point in this great battle as we go forward to take back the presidency of the United States. This is the first time in my life I've ever had the privilege of saying welcome aboard to a four-star general."

In my opinion, a Kerry-Clark ticket would have the potential to blow Bush-Cheney out of the water. Certainly, no one could question the military knowledge and credentials of these two combat-veteran Democrats, and they could run circles around Our Sainted And Yet Illegitimate President.

I think the next few months will be fascinating. I know that John Kerry is up to the task. I'm not at all certain that George W. Bush is.
