Just wait until the rematch

Hockey team holds back, still romps 27-0

Ouch.... Not even the miserable team that tries to pass themselves off as the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins has had to endure this sort of humiliation.

MOORHEAD, Minn. - Moorhead players insist they had no desire to humiliate Monticello in the quarterfinals of a high school hockey tournament. They still won 27-0.

"You try not to run up the score, but there's only so much you can do," said Moorhead forward Nick Deutz, who had seven points in the game Tuesday night....

Moorhead (22-2) outshot the Stars (1-25) 87-3.

If memory serves, high school hockey games are only three 15-minute periods as opposed to 20 minutes on other levels. Just think what might have transpired with 20-minute periods. Yikes; Monticello's goaltender is probably going to need several months of therapy.
