White House: Intelligence panel will be objective
Tenet defends prewar judgment on Iraq: CIA chief denies political pressure affected intelligence
Anyone out there care to tell me why the Bush Intelligence Whitewash Commission is supposed to focus on the alleged "errors" in intelligence estimates? If you had listened to George Tenet and others in the intelligence community, you'd understand that the problem isn't with the intelligence that George W. Bush and his cronies were provided with. The problem is with how the intelligence was molded and repackaged to justify a desired policy goal.
"Iraq has chemical weapons...." Remember that one? That was Colin Powell stating his case before the UN Security Council last year. This information was part of the case that was built to decieve the American electorate into supporting an invasion of Iraq. Like millions of Americans, I swallowed the bait, and now I am beyond angry at the deception and manipulation that took place.
And now the Whitewash Commission is supposed to complete it's report by March 31, 2005? How convenient that we won't have any answers prior to the November election, eh? It sure would be inconvenient for Our Sainted And Yet Illegitimate President to have to answer any annoying questions about his Administration's lack of honesty and forthrightness.
Integrity and honesty? If youre looking for it in the White House, you're going to be gravely disappointed. (How can you tell when George W. Bush is lying? His lips are moving....)
