Another DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener

Father claims trooper's search of drug-filled diaper was illegal

DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener #71: Walter Martin

I really hate to sound as if I'm advocating eugenics, but I firmly believe that some folks just are not qualified to be parents. Our latest DUMB@$$ is one of these maroons who should be used as Exhibit A. I'm sorry, Mr. Martin, but if you are willing to use your child as a drug mule, you do not deserve to have children. Period. Any questions??

EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- A father facing drug charges argued this week that a trooper made an unconstitutional search by checking his son's apparently soiled diaper and finding a bag of crack inside.

The diaper change was a search conducted without probable cause, Walter Martin argued in asking a court to throw out the evidence.

Martin, 30, goes on trial next week. His wife, Tawana Fairley, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in the fall.

Trooper Douglas Humphrey discovered the drugs last June after pulling Martin over for speeding.

Humphrey learned Martin was a suspect in a drug investigation, and a search by a drug-detection dog led Fairley to admit she had marijuana, court documents said.

When Humphrey lifted their 18-month-old son, he noticed "a large load" in the baby's diaper. The trooper then found the cocaine inside.

On top of everything else, Martin has the gall to claim that the trooper's search was "constitutional". Well, I suppose that DOES trump the fact that using your child's diaper to hide drugs was "immoral", eh??

To my way of thinking, this qualifies as child abuse, and Mr. Martin deserves to be treated as a child abuser by the criminal justice system. Yo, DUMB@$$- how about waking up and taking responsibility for the criminal endangerment of your child? And how about getting ready to be a guest of the Indiana Department of Corrections? I hear the inmates there just LOVE child abusers. Rotsa ruck....
