Get over yourselves and your feigned outrage

Kerry Comment Riles Bush Campaign

Memo to the Bush Campaign: spare us the faux righteous indignation, will you? You know damn well that you and your candidate are guilty of the same thoughts. Kerry's misfortune was simply making the mistake of giving voice to those thoughts in an unguarded moment.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry called Wednesday for deeper tax cuts for the middle class than proposed by President Bush and described his Republican critics as "the most crooked ... lying group I've ever seen." The chairman of Bush's re-election campaign called on Kerry to apologize "for this negative attack."

Call off the dogs and lose the fake outrage, y'all. This was in no way a "negative attack", and even it it had been, it pales in comparison to some of the comments made by Republican zealots and the attack dogs.

This is going to be a nasty, drawn-out affair. If Republicans cannot handle that, might I suggest that you head back to Mount Athos, where you can wait out the campaign in silent meditation, contemplation, and prayer. That's right; if you can't stand the heat, get the hell off the stove, 'kay??
