Perhaps Josef Goebbels was onto something....

Military Families Urge Censure for Bush as Congress Marks Iraq Anniversary

Of course, this will never happen, and if I have to explain why I'm going to have to come over there and slap you.... Yeah, like a fawning Republican Congress used to marching in lockstep is ever going to drop the hammer on one of their own. Riiiiigghhhttt....

This is an actually an idea with some merit, but we'll get a censure vote out of a Republican Congress about the same time I'm elected Queen of England. Still, it is something that many of us think is worth some serious consideration. Considering the lies and misrepresentation that went into securing Congressional approval to invade Iraq, perhaps we should be asking what the consequences should be.

Bill Clinton lied about an intern "assuming the position" in front of him, and he was impeached. George W. Bush lies about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction, leading to the death of almost 600 young American soldiers, and he is hailed as a conquering hero and savior of the entire free world. WTF?? Can someone explain this bit of Republican hypocrisy to me, because I sure as hell am having trouble understanding it. From where I sit, it reads like this: A Democratic President lying is a breach of confidence with the American people; a Republican President lying is simply taking care of business. Is that really the sort of hypocritical, two-faced, craven government that we want? Apparently so.

I will likely go to my deathbed wondering how a stained blue dress is worthy of impeaching a President, while 600 dead American soldiers is not. Perhaps some things just aren't meant to be understood. Never underestimate the power of Republican propaganda.
