Washington Congressman omits "under God" from Pledge
This issue ranks right up there with gay marriage when it comes to pointless wastes of public time and money. Young American men and women are dying in Iraq- many because they lack the proper protective armor needed in that hostile environment- and Congressman are worrying about and expending political capital on two words in the Pledge of Allegiance?
Memo to Pete Sessions: please feel free to remove your anterior from your posterior at your earliest convenience. Your appalling degree of demagoguery and political grandstanding, while typical of Republicans, is wholly inapporpriate and a waste of time that should be devoted to far more important pursuits- like adequately equipping our troops in Iraq.
There is so much meaningful work that could be done by Congress, and yet members of the Republican majority seem to have no problem with wasting time, energy, and money on symbolism and meaningless arguments. I grow tired of listening to Social Conservative wail and moan about "issues" such as the Pledge of Allegiance or gay marriage. When it comes time to address real, tangible issues, they are nowhere to be found.
I'm not about to defend Jim McDermott. To say he is "out there" would be something of an understatement, but to make a issue out of how he recites the Pledge of Allegiance smacks of demagoguery. McDermott may be clueless, but to turn his "gaffe" into a cause celebre is inexcusable.
Yet another memo, this one to Social Conservatives: stop your whining, get off your @$$e$, and get to work. There are soldiers risking their lives daily who do not have the armor they need to protect them. How about devoting your time and energy to making THAT happen? Or is that asking too much?

To me, this reads as "lol Congress can't walk and chew gum at the same time lol." Come on, Jack, yes, Iraq is important, but so are things going on here. I'm not talking about the pledge, I'm talking about your grouping of gay marriage with the pledge issue and your categorization of them both as unimportant.
The Congress has already doled out billions of dollars for the invasion of Iraq, it seems like the inability of the military to properly equip its soldiers should be thusly blamed on the Pentagon, not Congress.
Sooner or later, I'm sure, I'll be found out. The word will be out that I went around via Google to the various anti-Bush weblogs, and much like a busy little bee, deposited a comment in those weblogs that allow for such.
At one particular weblog I visited, the bloggeuse was in despair. Seemingly, indisputable files documenting Dumb'ya's misgovernance grow thicker and even more nauseating daily. Nonetheless, his lead in the polls increases. And so, I asked myself a couple questions. What could be going on? What could be the explanation?
Well, here's some of the comment I left. "Nobody cares to admit that their country willfully elevated a nincompoop to head of state. It's sort'a like admitting tha'cher favorite aunt gets her jollies from 'communing' with alligators. Aaay, c'mon, that's the best way I know how to phrase it ... gimme a break. For all we know, the current chairman of the Federal Communications Commission checks out your website DAILY."
And here's the permissible portion of the comment I left.
"I'd like you to consider reading the text for a "state of the union" address that I believe is imperative for this country of ours. To get to it, all you need do is click on the below enclosed U.R.L

By the way, the proprietors of the www.BCVoice.com website have provided a couple ways for you to leave your comments."
I'm so confused.
Me too!
