Now here is a blacklist I would be proud to be included in, particularly when it's couched in self-serving and self-congratulatory crap like this:
We conservatives are not a hateful bunch. We're pretty much live and let live, comme ci comme ca, focusing on the goal at hand rather than those who differ from us.

Before y'all dislocate a shoulder patting yourself on the back, let me just state for the record that my experience has been that the only people who think Conservatives are not "a hateful bunch" are Conservatives themselves. This sort of crap only serves to counter the very point you are trying to make, no matter how "tongue in cheek" you might think it to be.
A pet peave of mine is the vitriol and lack of respect so many blogs have for opposing points of view. As a Libertarian, I try to feed from both the left and the right. I want to read reasoned points of views even if they aren't always in sync with my own. One of the reasons I really like this blog is that here you avoid being tempted to excess. Atrios although it is an important libral source, many times goes into excess and, abuses his fellow bloggers. Terms such as F**k'n wingers and Socialist freeloadrers only Serve to inflame and do little make a point.

Thank you. I'm trying to live up to my belief that people can disagree without being disrespectful. Of course, I often stumble, but at least you won't find me telling people to "f**k off", as has happened to me on other sites. Red Meat Republicans often have a difficult time understanding that there just might be a different point of view out there.
Wow - you had to dig back a bit, didn't you? That post was well over a year old. It's also a take-off on a P.J. O'Rourke article, and was as thoroughly tongue-in-cheek as the original - although being an irony-proof conservative, I guess I wouldn't know, would I?
However, I can't help but notice that you and your commenters say things like "Red Meat Republicans often have a difficult time understanding that there just might be a different point of view out there" and "the only people who think Conservatives are not "a hateful bunch" are Conservatives themselves". Wow - would that be a rampant generalization? Jeez, guys - any given post on Kos or Atrios draws more ugliness and bile than an entire year on the entire Northern Alliance of Blogs does.
Yeah, I know - recognizing that would involve a major tectonic shift in the lefty self-image.
Never mind...
By the way - I think it's fascinating that lefties absolve themselves for their own incivilities with a fey "Of course, I often stumble" - but for the opposition, ANY opposition, it's a deep-rooted character flaw. Right? Because I can reel out the abuse I get on lefty blogs (and the abuse they bring to my inbox), too...
