Coping with the aftermath

Saudi terror attack leaves Oasis deserted

This is what terrorism looks like:

Large pools of coagulated blood stain tile floors and expensive carpet inside a hotel where people were held hostage and murdered.

Shell casings litter the streets outside.

Bullet-shattered windows frame a door adorned with a sign saying "Welcome Friends."

A child's bike lies abandoned where it was dropped when the violence began last Saturday.

The Oasis Residential Resort, where four suspected al-Qaida militants took about 50 people hostage, now stands deserted....

Workmen are now busily caulking over the bullet holes and putting up new walls and fences, smoothing over the evidence of the attack and trying to prevent a future one.

There are pictures that accompany this piece from the Houston Chronicle- if you're up for it. I think I'll pass....
