Gee, what a shock...I don't support George W. Bush

The Misunderestimated Man: How Bush chose stupidity

It has come to my attention that some folks are genuinely offended that I am writing and posting items that are agressively anti-Bush. Guess what y'all...I AM agressively anti-Bush. If this takes anyone by surprise, I truly feel sorry for you. Outside of having to rely on the Supreme Court to appoint him President, outside of lying about Iraq in order to get the war he wanted, outside of lying to seniors to get them to swallow his Medicare "reform", George W. Bush might just have something to offer this country. I just can't for the life of me think of what that something might be. So, I'll leave it to Jacob Weisberg to give voice to another of my opinions regarding Our Sainted and Illegitimate President:

The question I am most frequently asked about Bushisms is, "Do you really think the president of the United States is dumb?"

The short answer is yes.

The long answer is yes and no.

Quotations collected over the years in Slate may leave the impression that George W. Bush is a dimwit. Let's face it: A man who cannot talk about education without making a humiliating grammatical mistake ("The illiteracy level of our children are appalling"); who cannot keep straight the three branches of government ("It's the executive branch's job to interpret law"); who coins ridiculous words ("Hispanos," "arbolist," "subliminable," "resignate," "transformationed"); who habitually says the opposite of what he intends ("the death tax is good for people from all walks of life!") sounds like a grade-A imbecile.

And if you don't care to pursue the matter any further, that view will suffice. George W. Bush has governed, for the most part, the way any airhead might, undermining the fiscal condition of the nation, squandering the goodwill of the world after Sept. 11, and allowing huge problems (global warming, entitlement spending, AIDS) to metastasize toward catastrophe through a combination of ideology, incomprehension, and indifference. If Bush isn't exactly the moron he sounds, his synaptic misfirings offer a plausible proxy for the idiocy of his presidency.

Look, I'm not wild about John Kerry, but don't we deserve a President who can string together complete, coherent sentences? Don't we deserve a President with integrity? Don't we deserve a President who doesn't wear his faith on his sleeve? We deserve all of these things, and it's clear that we are not going to get it from George W. Bush. At least John Kerry is an intelligent, articulate, honest, and compassionate man of honor.

If you're offended by this critique of Our Sainted and Illegitimate President, I would suggest to you that you are entitled to your opinion. Just keep in mind that this is my corner of da Interweb, and around here I am Lord of the Manor and Chief Executioner. My world, my rules, my point of view. Between now and November, I plan to do everything in my power to discredit George W. Bush and to keep him from stealing yet another election. If I can influence one vote for Kerry, I will consider my efforts a success.

WE DESERVE BETTER....
