It looks as if my favorite New Englander is continuing to make some steady improvement....
Brian is doing amazingly well. He is uncomfortable, but says he is not in pain. He was out of bed all day today. We walked the halls a few times and, though he is stiff, he says it feels good to move around.
His attitude is amazing - very positive and determined.
Charlotte has been spending a lot of time with my friend Amy and her daughter Camille - Charlotte and Camille are best friends and go to day care together. In a time of crisis everyone should be lucky enough to have someone like Amy in their life. She has made this entire thing bearable for me.
I am doing much better today than yesterday. I am best when I have things to do and we are reaching that stage - rearranging cupboards so Brian can reach things, putting a lock on the bedroom door so the cat's can't get in and climb on Brian, and generally getting things ready for him to come home.
We both know that there will be rough days ahead - I'm sure he will get incredibly bored over the next weeks, but we are doing well.
Thanks to all of you for your support, your kind words, and your help.
Baby steps, mi amigo, baby steps....
