Sticks and stones....

A Challenge to Political Bloggers

I ran across this yesterday in the comments on one of my posts:

I wouldn't want to be stuck in a foxhole with anyone as despicable and unreliable as the modern American liberal.

Right. And what is it about being a Conservative that makes one feeling inherently morally superior? As if being a Liberal makes one somehow less patriotic and less American.... I could make a derogatory comment about the self-centeredness and smug self-superiority of Conservatives, but I'm not going to play that game. Besides, what's the point? I'm not going to change your mind, you'er not going to change mine, so why can't we just agree to disagree rather than stooping to gratuitous insults that merely expose you as intolerant and self-righteous?

Look, I may be a Progressive, but I value opposing viewpoints. Unless like some folks on the other end of the ideological spectrum, I am not threatened by those who think differently. Feel free to stop by any time; you're always welcome. Leave a comment if you feel moved to do so. Just don't pee in my sandbox.
