The law of unintended consequences

Analysis: The age of Reagan. President loomed over the '80s, an era at odds with itself.

Yes, many Americans consider Reagan a great President and a great man. One could reasonably argue that he may well have been a great man. However, there is much about his Presidency that has been conveniently glossed over in the rush to lionize him. For instance, I wonder how many American soldiers are dead in part because of the Reagan Administration's support for Saddam Hussein? No, I'm certainly not blaming Ronald Reagan for George W. Bush's war, but Reagan DID support Hussein. Absent that support, would we be in the position we're in?

Just a thought....
