Bush wants fast action on 9/11 panel proposals: President holds teleconference with key advisers
Interesting, isn't it, how what was once profound ambivalence has now given way to a desire for "fast action"? When the 9.11 Commission's report was first released, George W. Bush was falling all over himself in an attempt to be ambivalet, noncommital, and exceedingly vague about what he would do regarding the Commission's recommendations. Now that he has determined that voters will not accept what seemed to be his initial reaction- to let the furor die down and wait for the public to forget about the report- he seems to be making a concerted effort to get himself installed at the head of the parade.
THIS is leadership? WE DESERVE BETTER.

Hey, W could have said on Sept 12, 2001 that our intelligence gathering was faulty, and started to overhaul things then! The fact that he didn't do anything for 2.5 years is Clinton's fault -- no wait, sorry I was being facetious. Whose fault is it that 2.5 years later, not a single thing has changed in our intelligence gathering, W?
