It's Texas Tuesday, y'all!

An intro to Mark Strama
Strama Campaign Academy

Once again, It's Texas Tuesday, wherein Texas Democrats pee into the prevailing political winds and try not to end up getting wet and smelling badly. This week's (hopefully dry and sweet-smelling) spotlight is on Mark Strama.

Today's featured candidate is Mark Strama, running in SD 50 against first-term incumbent Jack Stick. This is a race that the state Democratic Party has targeted as winnable (Stick got just over 55% of the vote in 2002, while both John Sharp and Kirk Watson carried the district) and desireable as Stick is just another DeLay clone who owes his political existence to The Hammer....

Mark Strama, who cut his political teeth on Ann Richards' successful 1990 campaign for Governor and in State Sen. Rodney Ellis' office, then worked with Rock the Vote and founded NewVoter.com, is the man to beat him....

This is a race that will be won or lost in the Pflugerville area precincts and is certainly winnable with the Interns laying the groundwork this summer- something that Strama's opponent, Rep. Jack Stick, does not have going for him.

Strama is clearly a candidate who has a vision of what he wants to accomplish and has a unique take on how he is going to get there. He is also a anti-DeLay/Craddick candidate deserving of our support.
