Another DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener

DUMB@$$ AWARD wiener #143: Sandy Sponaugle

Thanks to Dennis, a regular visitor to TPRS, for updating me on this post from earlier today. This should probably be returned unopened to the "Open Mouth, Insert Foot" Department before the expiration date.

The client who "disapproved" of Hiller's comments and who is responsible for his termination is Sandy Sponaugle, of Platinum Public Relations. Her email address is sandy@platinumpublicrelations.com.

The worst thing a public relations firm can have is bad PR, and her company's name is now being carried all over the country as a result of her foolish actions.

You think that a Public Relations professional would have some clue as to what the unintended consequences of her hissy fit might be. Apparently, though, Ms. Sponaugle is so cravenly and ridiculously partisan that she simply passed on the common sense when it was passed her way.

THIS, kids, is the stuff that DUMB@$$ES are made of. Many aspire, few attain, and even few reach the heights (or depths, depending on your point of view) that Sandy Sponaugle has climbed to. Of course, if TPRS even need a PR consultant, I think I'd stick with Dick Morris or David Gergen. At least when they're cravenly political they're open and upfront about it.

BTW, if you're feeling ornery (and Lord knows I am), feel free to email Sandy and congratulate her on her DUMB@$$ AWARD. I'm sure she be "grateful" for the accolades.

You don't say anything and the story is a about a guy who got removed from a campaign event, if there is a story at all.

Now we have two PR firms: Platinum and Octovio acting like fools and connecting themselves to the event. They have lost credibility with the Republicans for giving the guy a ticket, and with the Democrats for firing him. A wonderful "lose-lose" solution.
