At least Dolphins fans have something new to whine about

Talk about having bad karma

Well, as if whining about the retirement of Ricky Williams wasn't enough, now fans of the Miami Dolphins have yet another reason to bemoan their fate. The loss of WR David Boston for the season simply continues the Dolphin's agonizing summer of discontent.

I'm normally not one to find enjoyment in another's suffering, but this is football, y'all. Things happen, you deal with it, and you move on. The Dolphins have yet to play their first preseason game, and people here are already bracing themselves for an 0-16 season.

Do you believe in karma? It is the concept, in Buddhism and some other forms of theosophy, that ''what goes around comes around,'' suggesting that actions in one's former life directly shape one's future existence.

If you do believe in karma, then you should agree by now that Dolphins coach Dave Wannstedt must have spent a former life tipping over wheelchairs, robbing blind beggars and setting cats on fire. It's a wonder he has been permitted to live this existence in human form at all. He should be a three-legged goat. With mange.

If Wannstedt were any unluckier, this would be a eulogy.

For Miami's NFL season, it's pretty damned close.

Hmm...if a disappointing season is the worst thing y'all have to deal with, you would seem to be leading a rather charmed existence. These things happen, but it not's likely anyone died. It's football, not life.

Meanwhile, more than 33,000 fans with too much time on their hands paid $15 per ticket and $10 to park to watch a scrimmage against the Dolphins. That's right- not even a preseason game. A scrimmage.

Hey honey, I know we don't have any plans this afternoon, so how about we go throw some of our hard-earned disposable income at Bob McNair?
