I found this comic puzzling, for the reasons that Greg mentioned above. When you look at Kerry's "Plan" his weakness in this area really shows...
For Example:
"Modernize The World's Most Powerful Military To Meet New Threats.
Kerry-Edwards will ensure that our forces are fully prepared for the dangerous and vital missions they may face, and that America's military always remains second to none. We must extend our capabilities to better face new threats of terrorism, failed states and homeland defense.
Sounds good to me, if it's true. But is it? This comes from the same lips that spoke NO votes for for MOST of the military technology we use. Our military capabilities would be far greater today if they had not suffered from 19 years of Kerry, 8 of which were spent in lockstep with Bill "I loathe the military" Clinton's efforts to weaken it.
Bring it on Comrade Kerry, I'm sure the Repbublicans would simply love to discuss a voting record that accurately portrays you as the liberal/socialist/communist dove you are!
"Deploy All That Is In America's Arsenal.
The war on terror cannot be won by military might alone. Kerry - Edwards will deploy all the forces in America's arsenal - our diplomacy, our intelligence system, our economic power, and the appeal of our values and ideas - to make America more secure and prevent a new generation of terrorists from emerging."
Tell us Mr. Kerry which part of this is not being done by President Bush? Does this mean that you would wait for unanimous UN/Allied approval before taking military action? BTW Johnny-boy, Militant Islam found "our values and ideas" so appealing they declared war on us.
"Free America From Its Dangerous Dependence On Mideast Oil.
To secure our full independence and freedom, we must free America from its dangerous dependence on Mideast oil. By tapping American ingenuity, we can achieve that goal while growing our economy and protecting our environment."
So is this guy For or Against increasing domestic oil production? Like many aspects of the Kerry "plan" this is very vaque, and it's goals seem to conflict with themselves and other parts of his plan.
"Launch and Lead A New Era Of Alliances.
The threat of terrorism demands alliances on a global scale - to utilize every available resource to get the terrorists before they can strike us. Kerry-Edwards will lead a coalition of the able - because no force on earth is more able than the United States and its Allies."
Yea, right... All it will take for France and Germany to get on board with us is to elect the French Looking candidate. These are vague rosy words with absolutely no hint of how he expects to persuade the FEW countries that are against us. Mr. Kerry would like the voting public to forget the fact that most of the free world already supports the current and successful foreign policy.
But as I've typed this, I think I understand the comic better now. It would make much more sense to a person who has accepted without question, the massive volumes of dis-information that have spewed from the Kerry campaign and its loud mouthed arms-length affiliates. Like most socialist/communist governments, the Kerry campaign benefits tremendously from an apathetic and ignorant electorate who tends to base their political beliefs on emotion rather than truth. The comic probably plays quite well in that environment.
"CUT!! Dammit, hold that camera steady on this shot. Okay, places, people. Annnnnd, ACTION."
Hey, we'll be GLAD to take the Senator on regarding national security -- we own that territory.
