Some theorize that the real reason these Vietnam vets are doing this is to get even for Kerry's vehement anti-Vietnam War rhetoric after he got out of the Navy and led the Vietnam Veterans Against the War. They claim that he insinuated that the U.S. military was killing babies and women and committing other atrocities. Because they insist that was a lie, this is just a quid pro quo. If these vets had the guts of John Kerry back then, they, too, would have spoken out against that nonsensical war. It was thanks to military people like Kerry that the Vietnam War was brought to a merciful end. Without them, the wall at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial would be even longer than it is now. That's the truth.
