Well, it sure beats debating issues when you can't hang with your opponent

Kerry Accuses GOP of Using Fear Tactics

Quick; what's the easiest and most effective Republican campaign technique? If you guessed manipulating the fears of the American electorate, you should go to the head of the class.

Perhaps it's just that George W. Bush recognizes that he couldn't carry John Kerry's jock when it comes to debating the issues that are important to this country today. Of course, if you can frighten people into thinking that the absolute WORST thing that they can do is change horses in the middle of the race, why would you have to worry about debating issues?

NEW YORK, Aug. 24 -- John F. Kerry returned to the political wars Tuesday, firing a preemptive shot at next week's Republican National Convention here with a warning that four days of "slogans and personal attacks" cannot cover up a four-year record of economic failure.

Speaking to a supportive audience at a campus a few blocks south of Madison Square Garden, where the GOP will renominate President Bush, the Democratic challenger argued that Republicans are responsible for "four years of lost jobs, lower wages, higher health care costs and tax cuts for the few . . . . At every step of the way, George W. Bush has put the narrow interests of the few ahead of the interests of most Americans."....

....[I]n an obvious reference to the charge his campaign has made that Bush supporters are behind the veterans' attacks, Kerry said that Republicans are "misleading the American people, hiding behind front groups, saying anything and doing anything to avoid the real issues that matter like jobs, health care and the war in Iraq."

It's going to take John Kerry standing up and screaming "ENOUGH!!" for people to realize what the Bush campaign is attempting to get away with here. It's been said that you can never go broke underestimating the tastes of the American people. Let's hope that come November 2nd, the same thing won't be said about American voters.

WE DESERVE BETTER.

...and didn't you love the great theater out at the Crawford ranch when triple amputee former Senator Max Cleland was refused a meeting with the President. Do you think Bush would have refused to meet with Sam Nunn or Warren Rudman, had they come calling? Yesterday has to be one of the most disgusting days in the President's campaign yet. Yet, Bush continues to enjoy the support of around 50% of the American people, which I suppose just proves P. T. Barnum's statement.

Sorry, but the Clelan gambit was a cheap shot by the Kerry people.

I mean after all, the Democrats have gone out of their way to make him seem like a war hero, when he actually sustained his injuries by committing the ultimate party foul -- picking up a hot grenade instead of a cold beer (he had stayed behind with guys in another unit because they had gotten some beer).

And given that questioning Cleland's record on defense issues in 2002 was morphed into "questioning his patriotism" by Cleland and the Democrats, I have no respect for him.

Any policitican should know that you don't just go to a President's residence and expect to be seen.

This is obviously more grandstanding from the Kerry Camp. But hey, what else can you do when your candidate lacks the basic honesty and charactor required to lead this country at this time, and your scared $hitless of people finding out the truth.
